Tea Time in Juneau

I have the pleasure of working with a great group of Head Start directors throughout the state. We meet 3 times a year in different locations but our February meeting is always in Juneau, AK the state capital. The Alaska Head Start Assoication is a great group that I am proud to be a member of and sit on the executive committee as the secretary. G and I are heading back to Nome after a wonderful week in Juneau. The weather was beautiful (the past 3 years there has been horrible snow storms). We would get up every morning and go for a walk before our meetings...this year our conference was wonderful. We had great feedback from the parents and staff that attended. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to meet the First Lady of Alsaka Sandy. She did a welcome speech to the group and I was asked to sit at her table. She scooped up G right away and held her for a long time. We also had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at the Governor's Mansion and meeting Governor Parnell.
