So Graciana had her 2nd stay in the hospital (besides when she was born) this past week. She got a cold last weekend but on Monday morning she just didn't sound right. We did a walk in and saw the doctor. He said it was just a mild cold but I wasn't too conviced. They ran the test that we asked for and a couple of hours later it came back positive for RSV - Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It's very common up here (so I wasn't too concerned since the doctor's see this all the time. Our nurse friends have been warning us too for the past month that it has been going around so we were prepared). They told us that she had a middle case and to come back in the morning to monitor it. Let's just say on Tuesday morning she was a lot worse and she got admitted. We spent 2 nights there and we were SO happy to get released on Thursday! Graciana was our little trooper and all the nurses loved her.
She only had to be on oxygen for a few hours...after that she kept taking it off and it wasn't worth the hassel to have her on it!
She was pretty cute in her hospital gown.

The same thing happened to my little girl, when she was 2 months old. She spent 5 nights in Fairbanks, one of which was in the hospital, with RSV and maybe a bacterial respiratory infection as well. She bounced back and seems stronger because of it. I'm glad to hear that baby G handled her illness well. Tim in Galena.
